Madison Direct Health is a family owned and operated medical office located in Madison, IN.

I have a passion for healthcare, with over 20 years of diverse medical experience.

I am Brandy Smith, APRN, FNP-C (Family Nurse Practitioner) and I started my healthcare journey as a medical receptionist in 1997. I worked in both pediatrics and family medicine. I later worked my way through nursing school to become a Registered Nurse (RN). My experience as an RN was mostly medical-surgical floor nursing, and correctional care nursing at the Women's Prison.

Nursing drove my passion for health care even further, so I returned to college earning my Master's degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). My experience has been in family health, addiction treatment and occupational health. Additionally, I am a national certified medical examiner for the Federal Motor Carrier Service Administration (FMCSA) and perform DOT physical exams for CDL drivers. 

One thing I find myself most passionate about, that is not spoke about enough is helping fight the opioid crisis which has shattered our country. I work to help provide treatment through Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) and help patients establish with therapists for the best chance at maintaining sobriety. Outpatient treatment is not right for every person, for those needing inpatient treatment we have name/number/location information for inpatient treatment facilities near our area.
